Providing Creative and Positive Solutions for Children's Behaviors
Welcome to CHILDHOOD MATTERS, a unique child behavior consulting service dedicated to helping parents manage their childrens' challenging behaviors, as well as those "everyday" issues and dilemmas that all parents face at times. I also work with staff to improve their relationships with the children they work with, by teaching them how to remove the punitive element from their classrooms or activity sessions.
My passion is helping parents to achieve a deeper understanding of their children's development and behaviors, which is then followed by providing them with progressive, positive and creative skills and strategies that are uniquely designed for each individual family.
This service, in essence, is like that of the "Supernanny" from television , although all strategies and tools provided here never include any forms of punishment, not even time-outs, neither are they permissive in nature. The teaching I provide inevitably creates more peace within the home, as parents gain total confidence in their skills, and children naturally respond to these techniques with better behavior.
I also provide these services to anyone spending time with children, whether it's "nannies", teachers or facilities.
All of my strategies are individually tailored and designed to help each family, staff member, or facility get the best and most desirable behaviors from the children in their care.

MY MISSION...
My mission (and passion) is to teach people better and more positive parenting techniques, so that they can achieve the best possible relationships with their children, right from the start and through those potentially trying teen years. I also strive to help people understand that there is always a way to improve on the interactions they have with their children, since no one was actually given that proverbial "manual" when their child was born!
MY PHILOSOPHY...
The parenting and teaching of children is not only an artform, but a profession like any other. The only difference is that parenting children is the most important and difficult profession there is. In any company or corporation, there exists professional development and staff-training for its employees. Why should the people who have the most influence on children's lives not be entitled to the same professional development? Learning to parent and manage children in the most positive of ways is a learned skill to be mastered like any other. I provide this "professional development for parents" (and others working with children) in order to make available what every parent needs at some point in their parenting career -- tips, strategies, tools, and creative solutions to common and not-so-common parenting issues and dilemmas.
