WORKING WITH PARENTS IN GROUPS

This workshop is divided into two parts: 1) understanding the development of children specifically from infancy to age three, the period when children attend programs with a caregiver; and 2) improving skills when working as an animator of a parent-tot program.  Topics include: having appropriate expectations for children's behaviors and abilities; setting limits when parents are present; forming connections and relationships with both parents and children; making the learning environment one that is pressure-free, nurturing, and fun; and encouraging parent participation through modeling.  Participants will develop the knowledge and confidence needed to be an effective Parent-Tot teacher, and will learn concrete techniques they can employ during classes to help them become valuable representatives of your organization.
